Cadillac Talks ELR Design & Engineering at The Montauk Beach House
Mon, Jul 22 2013
MONTAUK, N.Y. – Cadillac executives gathered with influencers in the design and luxury communities to discuss the Cadillac ELR luxury coupe, on display for guests to experience at the Montauk Beach House.
Due to reach U.S. showrooms in early 2014, the ELR won the EyesOn Design award for best production car at the 2013 North American International Auto Show. It features the first application of Extended Range Electric Vehicle technology by a full-line luxury automotive brand.
In line with the brand’s commitment to enlightened luxury, Cadillac honored builder Frank Dalene of Telemark and architect Richard Stott of Steelbone for their progressive work in sustainable building. Mark Adams, executive director of Cadillac Global Design, spoke about how the concept of Art & Science is the design philosophy behind his team’s work.
“The Cadillac ELR is designed for drivers who want to stand out in a luxurious and progressive way,” said Melody Lee, director of brand and reputation strategy. “Telemark and Steelbone apply powerful design and sustainability to their work, something our designers strive to do every day."
Guests were able to hear from Dalene and Stott about their own design philosophies and what inspires their customers to want their homes certified as Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED.
The July 20 event marked the opening celebration of Sound Waves @ the House, a seven-week celebration of fashion and music at The Montauk Beach House. All events in the series are complimentary and by invitation only. To find out more, visit www.facebook/MBHSummerMusicSeries.
