Encore Popularity Helps Buick’s September Sales
Tue, Oct 1 2013
DETROIT – Buick’s September retail sales increased 2 percent year over year, marking the 17th consecutive month of sales growth to individual customers. Total sales, including those sold to executive fleets and other commercial customers, were up 7 percent.
The all-new Buick Encore was the best-selling CUV in its segment during September. Nearly one in two Encore buyers came from other than General Motors’ brands.
“There was great demand for the Encore as soon as it launched,” said Peter Lanzavecchia, dealer principal at Burns Buick/GMC in Marlton, N.J. “I had a customer who owned a Toyota tell me she did four months of research before driving the Encore. After the drive she said she was sold on the ride quality, comfort, and roominess.”
Buick’s positive September overcame a tough month for the industry, said Brian Sweeney, vice president of Buick Sales and Service.
“This speaks volumes about our brand, great new products, and dealers, he said. “It’s exciting to see customers discovering Buick and we look for this momentum to continue as the new 2014 LaCrosse and Regal arrive in showrooms soon.”
