Cadillac Posts Best Retail Sales Since 1989

DETROIT – Cadillac’s expanded product lineup drove U.S. sales up 38 in August, the luxury brand’s 15th consecutive monthly increase. August also was Cadillac’s best retail sales performance since 1989.
Total year-to-date U.S. sales for Cadillac were up 32 percent through August, led by the XTS luxury sedan, SRX crossover and ATS sport sedan.
The XTS and SRX both achieved best-ever total and sales to individual customers in August. It was the best month on record for the XTS and the second-best all time for the SRX. The ATS sport sedan recorded its second-best retail sales in the 12 months it has been for sale.
Cadillac sales also rose 108.9 percent in China, year over year. Sales were led by the XTS and the SRX, which was up 49.9 percent.
“Cadillac is the fastest growing major brand in the industry today,” said Bob Ferguson, General Motors senior vice president, Global Cadillac. “This expansion is driven by our products, a lineup that we’re upgrading yet again this fall with the introduction of the next-generation CTS.”
