GMC Achieves Best August Sales Since 2007
Wed, Sep 4 2013
DETROIT – GMC retail sales were up 16 percent year over year last month, marking the best August since 2007 and the eighth consecutive month of retail sales growth. Terrain, Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL all posted their strongest month of the year.
“Young families and returning GMC customers are telling us the Terrain is the perfect size,” said Dwight Everett of Everett Buick GMC in Bryant, Ark. “It’s a great SUV that returns good fuel economy and provides plenty of room for the family and cargo.”
The all-new 2014 Sierra full-size truck continues to be in high demand and moving quickly off dealer lots. Full-size pickup truck sales were up 24 percent from August 2012 and more than 18,000 Sierras were delivered to customers. The momentum continues as Sierra double cab and regular cab models begin arriving in showrooms.
Yukon and Yukon XL both achieved the best retail sales for any month this year, each up 13 percent, with the Yukon XL posting its best August since 2008.
