Buick Regal Gains Sales Momentum with Strong January

Tue, Feb 4 2014

DETROIT– The Buick Regal saw a 35 percent retail and 43 total sales gain in January, marking the fourth consecutive month of year-over-year growth since launch of the new model.

Redesigned for 2014, the Regal now offers an available advanced all-wheel-drive system that incorporates electronic limited-slip differential to help make the most of traction in all driving conditions. Regal AWD, offered on 2.0L Turbo and performance GS models, accounted for 18 percent of January Regal sales.

In the Northeast region of the U.S., the largest market for AWD cars, the Regal AWD accounted for 26 percent of Regal sales.

“Many consumers will only consider a vehicle with AWD,” said Tony DiSalle, vice president of Buick marketing. “We’ve listened to our customers and delivered an AWD Regal that not only gives them a vehicle for inclement conditions, but one that adds confidence and fun no matter what the weather.”

While engineered to offer sure-footed handling in low-grip conditions, Regal’s new AWD system also alters its characteristics to support performance-oriented driving when the Sport or GS driving modes are selected on Regal GS. Dealers are ordering nearly four in 10 Regal GS models with AWD.

Regal sedan customers cite exterior design and quality as top reasons for purchase.
