Buick Recognized by J.D. Power for Reliability

DETROIT – Buick today was recognized as one of the most reliable brands in the J.D. Power 2014 Vehicle Dependability Study and improved to fifth overall, outperforming many luxury competitive makes.

The 2014 study tracks 2011 model year vehicles in the third year of ownership.

Driving the brand’s overall gains, Buick’s prior large car called Lucerne marked its fourth year as large car segment leader.  The LaCrosse, currently the largest vehicle in Buick’s showroom, ranked second in J.D. Power’s midsize segment.

“Buick customers today cite their top reasons for purchase as overall quality, exterior style, and value,” said Tony DiSalle, vice president of Buick marketing. “As the brand continues to expand with new models and create new segments with vehicles like the Encore, retaining a focus on quality is at the core of every model we bring to market.”

With the Verano now the oldest model in Buick’s showroom, the brand continues to focus on quality and reliability. The 2013 Buick Encore ranked highest in the Sub-Compact CUV segment in the J.D. Power and Associates 2013 Initial Quality StudySM, and as a whole, the Buick brand outperformed the industry average in 2013 IQS. The Enclave crossover and Regal sedan each ranked among the top three in their respective segments in that study.
