Cadillac and Uber Continue Partnership in Chicago

Tue, Feb 4 2014

CHICAGO – Cadillac and Uber are again teaming up to provide on-demand private driver services – this time during the media and charity previews of the 2014 Chicago Auto Show.

Uber and Cadillac set the standard on arriving in style at the 2014 North American Auto Show in Detroit last month. Chicago users of the Uber smartphone app will be able to request a private driver in a 2014 Cadillac Escalade, SRX, XTS or CTS.

“After our success in Detroit, we are continuing to remake the rules of stylish transportation and further extend the opportunity for people to experience a new Cadillac,” said Melody Lee, Global Cadillac director, brand and reputation strategy.

Uber Cadillac rides are limited to 15 minutes, and will cover destinations within the Downtown Chicago area. Show-goers will be able to request an Uber Cadillac vehicle during the following times:

Wednesday, February 5

5 p.m. – 12 a.m.

Thursday, February 6

7:30 a.m. – 12 a.m.

Friday, February 7

7:30 a.m. – 12 a.m.

To request a ride in a 2014 Cadillac, users should open the Uber smartphone app, toggle to the right and select the “Cadillac” option; select the pickup location; tap “Request;” and the vehicle will be on its way. Riders are encouraged to post to Twitter and Instagram about their experiences using the #UberCadillac hashtag to @Cadillac and @Uber_CHI.

“The most exciting part of this partnership is that it gives Uber riders the ability to basically ‘request the auto show’ and check out Cadillac’s newest offerings by tapping a button in their Uber app,” said Max Crowley, Uber Chicago senior community manager.

Show-goers in Chicago this year will also receive half-off admission to the 2014 Chicago Auto Show on weekdays by showing their Uber receipt. Uber is also offering a $30 discount for first-time users in Chicago who enter the code “CadillacCHI” (excluding Uber Taxi). The new user promotion expires on February 28.

Availability of the free rides is limited. The Uber Cadillac vehicle type will be next to the driver’s picture. The 2014 Escalade can seat up to six passengers; The 2014 SRX, XTS and CTS have capacity for up to four passengers.
