James A. Davlin
James Davlin was appointed vice president finance and treasurer, effective October 3, 2011. He leads GM’s global treasury operations, including capital planning, capital market activities, worldwide banking and pension funding and has involvement in business development, risk management and investor relations.
Davlin joined GM from Deere & Company, a global leader of agriculture and construction equipment, where he served as vice president of Corporate Strategy and Business Development, a position he held since 2010. He previously served as vice president and treasurer of the company from 2007 to 2010.
Davlin worked at The Procter & Gamble Company from 1988 to 1997 in a variety of finance and operations leadership roles. He joined Eli Lilly and Company in 1997 and held several positions in Finance and served as controller in its Discovery Research operation. In 2002, Davlin was named assistant treasurer, Global Treasury, and in 2006 he was appointed assistant treasurer, Investor Relations.
Davlin earned his J.D. at Duke University of Law in 1995, a Master's of Business Administration from the University of Chicago in 1988 and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Philosophy from Wabash College in 1985.
Davlin is a member of the Advisory Board of the Duke Center for Finance.
