Selim Bingol
Selim Bingol joined General Motors in March 2010 with nearly three decades’ experience in corporate communications and public affairs. As Vice President, Global Communications, he has overall responsibility for GM's global products and brands, corporate, public policy, executive support and internal communications.
Prior to GM, Bingol served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications at AT&T during a time of unprecedented growth, merger and acquisition activity, and federal and state regulatory scrutiny. At AT&T, he led internal and external communications, including media relations, marketing communications, special events, crisis communications and executive support.
Before that, Bingol was a Senior Vice President and Senior Partner with Fleishman-Hillard, serving as a senior communications strategist to large international clients across diverse industries.
Bingol first joined Fleishman-Hillard in 1989 as a member of the public affairs team in the Washington, D.C. office. Before joining Fleishman-Hillard, he held positions on two congressional staffs in Washington, D.C.
A graduate of the University of Virginia, Selim, his wife and three daughters came to the Detroit area from San Antonio, Texas. He was born on May 31, 1960.
