General Motors is committed to fostering smart, safe and sustainable communities around the world. Our social investments promote economic growth through STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education, vehicle and road safety and sustainable communities.
Request For Proposals:
- Hometown Giving by investing in student success and neighborhood revitalization efforts in Detroit. Deadline: May 12, 2017. For more information, download the Hometown Giving RFP.
- STEM Education by investing in programs that improve the presence and persistence of students studying science, technology, engineering and math. Deadline: May 12, 2017. For more information, download the STEM Education RFP.
General Motors prescribes an open giving system that requires the online submission of a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) followed by Full Proposal, upon invitation. Any organization interested in applying for funding must first complete an Eligibility Quiz. This format is designed to maximize time and resources for both prospective nonprofit organizations and GM during the grantmaking process. With limited funds, the process is highly competitive and there will be many worthwhile proposals that GM will not be able to support. Due to the volume of requests, we are unable to communicate status of pending proposals while in review. All applicants will be notified by GM Global Corporate Giving of final decisions.
Before applying for funding, please review our social impact North Star and Corporate Grantmaking and/or Corporate Sponsorship Guidelines to ensure that your organization’s work aligns with GM’s philanthropic objectives.
