Bangkok, Thailand: Chevrolet Sales Thailand (Chevrolet) closed the first sales month of 2013 with a total of 6,039 vehicles, 59 percent more than it did in the same month in its record-breaking year 2012.
The Colorado remained Chevrolet’s best-selling model, with 2,476 units sold. It was followed by the Sonic (1,689 units), Trailblazer (694 units), Captiva (618 units) Cruze (504 units) and Aveo (58 units).
Across the Southeast Asian (SEA) region, Chevrolet also posted strong sales results in most major markets. On a year-on-year basis, in Indonesia, Chevrolet sold 452 vehicles (+48 percent), Malaysia (155 vehicles, +29 percent), Philippines (377 vehicles, +48 percent) and Singapore (187 vehicles, +36 percent). In total, Chevrolet sold 7,424 vehicles across the SEA region, 60 percent more than it did in January 2012.
To keep its growth momentum in 2013, Chevrolet will be focusing on ensuring a high level of quality in its products and customer-care services. The automaker will also continue to expand its brand footprint and accessibility to its products and services through a strong regional dealership expansion plan. In addition the all-new Chevrolet Spin multipurpose vehicle (MPV) will be revealed at the upcoming Bangkok International Motor Show 2013.
In Thailand, new dealerships are scheduled to open including two in the Nakhon Prathom province (in Amphoe Muang and Amphoe Omyai) and one in the Bueng Kan province.
Chevrolet Sales Thailand and GM Southeast Asia Operations’ new Vice-President of Sales, Marketing and Aftersales, Mr. Gustavo Colossi, said, “It certainly is a good start for a new sales year, especially on the back of a record-breaking 2012. We still have a lot of work to do, not just in Thailand but across the Southeast Asian region, to ensure we maximize our continued growth.”
“In our continued efforts to sustain growth, a high level of product and customer-care quality must also be achieved at all times,” Colossi added.
To celebrate Chinese New Year, Chevrolet will launch a new ‘Buy Chevrolet, Get Gold’ campaign in Thailand to thank its customers for their support. Under the terms of the campaign, a Captiva or Colorado (except the 2.5L Crew-Car LS1 variant) will come with gold at one baht weight, the Trailblazer will come with gold at two baht weight and the Cruze (except the 1.6L MT variant) will come with gold at three baht weight. The ‘Buy Chevrolet, Get Gold’ campaign will run from February 1 to February 28, 2013.
Additionally, Chevrolet’s ‘Maintenance Cost Guarantee’ for the Colorado and Trailblazer will continue, so will benefits under the ‘Chevy Plus’ customer-care campaign.
