Rick Westenberg

Vice President, Treasurer General Motors Company

Rick Westenberg was named vice president, treasurer, on July 1, 2017. Westenberg is responsible for leading the company’s global treasury operations, including capital planning, capital market and worldwide banking activities.

Before becoming treasurer, Westenberg was executive director, corporate financial planning and analysis, with responsibility for the financial forecasting, budgeting and medium-term planning activities for GM, as well as for leading the finance team supporting the company’s global corporate staffs.

Westenberg joined GM in 2003 in the Treasurer’s Office, where he worked in a number of positions in capital markets, capital planning and business development. In 2009, he was named the chief financial officer of OnStar LLC. Following this role, he was appointed CFO for GM of Canada. In 2013, he was named assistant treasurer of GM.

Before joining GM, Westenberg worked in public accounting and financial restructuring consulting at Ernst & Young LLP.

Westenberg earned an MBA from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Notre Dame.
