Ivette Dominguez, dealer principal, Alpine Buick-Pontiac-GMC in Denver, Colorado, was named Business Woman of the Year by the Denver Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. She was honored at the Denver Hispanic Chamber of Commerce's 21st Annual Meeting & Business Awards Luncheon on April 12, 2007.
Dominguez, the daughter of Cuban immigrants, became the owner and president of Alpine Pontiac GMC in Denver, Colo., in 2005. Since then, she has since increased the dealerships revenues by almost 40%.
Breaking the mold in a male-dominated industry, Dominguez caters her service and sales department to the ever-growing female buying population. In addition, she invites female salespeople, technicians and service professionals to join her winning team. Bilingual herself, Dominguez has supplemented a number of Spanish-speaking professionals to the Alpine staff as well, a move that has brought national attention to her dealership.
Dominguez began her career in the auto industry as a salesperson in 1990, after graduating from San Diego State University. In 1995, she joined the Massey Organization where she received successive annual honors as Top Salesperson of the Year.
Featured in a Denver Post article entitled, People on the move, Dominguez also supports youth in her community through a unique program called Support Our Students, which raised over $1.3 million for Denver area schools in only three days!
