The team's tools and resources are developed to provide practical yet substantive ways for helping raise awareness, increase understanding across differences, and to help employees and managers gain the skills they need to be full contributors to the workplace.

GM has a history of “Firsts” in Diversity and continues creating a legacy of innovative work in the area of Diversity.

Diversity at GM reflects the many differences and similarities that everyone brings as a part of who they are to their work and to their lives. As the team looks ahead, they will continue to strive to ensure that Diversity is part of everything that GM does and how the company does it.

GM GMability: Primary and secondary dimensions of the Diversity model

This is the Loden & Rosener Diversity Dimension model that illustrates some of the ways in which we are different or similar to each other. This model was used to assist in the development of the General Motors Diversity Logo.

The internal circle of dimensions represents the primary dimensions of diversity. These are aspects of people that do not/cannot change. The outer circle of dimensions are secondary dimensions of diversity. These are dimensions that can change and do change throughout our lifespan.
