2007 Sales Highlights

Saab is Europe's leading brand for E85 cars

Saab sold 84,930 cars in Europe in 2007, maintaining its market share of 0.4 percent. While experiencing a slight decrease in sales overall, the brand is growing in Southern Europe as well as in Central and Eastern Europe.

Saab reached all-time records in various markets globally in 2007, including Spain, Denmark and China, ending up with total global sales of 124,929 units.

At 32,674 units, the U.S. remained the number one market globally for Saab, followed by Sweden, with 24,911 registrations, and the U.K., with 23,642 registrations.

With the extension of the BioPower offer to the 9-3 range, Saab continues to be the leading brand for ethanol (E85) vehicles in Europe. The Saab 9-5 BioPower flexfuel car running on gasoline and E85 was the bestselling "green car" in Sweden, ahead of the Saab 9-3 BioPower.
