GM in the Czech Republic - History

Opel entered the Czech market in January 1991 as the first official importer of foreign cars into the Czech Republic. In April 2005 the representative office was transformed to a branch of GM Southeast Europe, which took over all of the duties of the national office representing the Opel and Chevrolet brands in the Czech Republic. Our customers can also purchase Saab models at selected dealerships.

In the Czech Republic the Chevrolet models first began to be sold in mid-2004.

GM sources a large amount of the parts it requires for the Opel production plants from Czech suppliers.
