In 2002 GM opened a Regional Office for Central and Eastern Europe in Budaörs. Since then, the Budaörs office has also become the regional headquarters for Chevrolet and taken over responsibility for Saab in the entire region. Since February 2008, GM Central and Eastern Europe Regional Office is also responsible for Sales, Marketing and Aftersales of Cadillac, Corvette and Hummer in the region. The Szentgotthard Plant produces engines and transmissions as part of the General Motors Powertrain Europe.
Throughout Hungary a wide variety of GM cars are sold, and in 2008 GM represented 15.3% of the total Hungarian market.
