A stack of these fuel cells
can power a car.
A fuel cell is a thin box about the size of a cookie sheet. It makes electricity from a chemical reaction. By "stacking" fuel cells together, you create a fuel cell stack that is kind of like a battery. The difference is you can keep it running as long as you supply it with fuel. The fuel cell uses hydrogen and oxygen to create electricity to power things. Its only waste is water and heat.
