Since 1976, the General Motors Foundation has been helping communities across the country. Investing in the next generation of leaders and innovators through scholarship and outreach programs. As well as bestowing grants supporting nonprofit organizations.

GM Foundation is proud to be a lead sponsor of NBC News’ Education Nation Detroit 2013. This groundbreaking program is an incredible forum for the top minds in education to meet and share best practices and is a catalyst to inspire real, systematic change in schools in Detroit and around the country. The program also allows students to voice their opinion on what’s working in their schools and what they hope for their own education.

The Buick Achievers Scholarship Program recognizes and supports outstanding high school and current undergraduate students interested in pursuing careers in the automotive and related industry and who will be studying science, technology, engineering, math, design and select business fields.

The General Motors Foundation has provided Habitat for Humanity with a grant to help revitalize 12 cities across the United States. The grant is dedicated to help construct healthier and stronger neighborhoods.

The GM Foundation is committed to supporting United Way’s mission to mobilize the caring power of Detroit and Southeastern Michigan to improve communities and individual lives in measurable and lasting ways. We are proud that our support helped create United Way’s “Network of Excellence” program.
