Advancing science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) globally is a critical focus area for General Motors. We are committed to accelerating support for STEM education through initiatives that create opportunities for high-quality and relevant learning, both inside and outside the classroom. With a strategic focus on STEM education, GM's goal is to facilitate the development of a qualified and diverse STEM workforce, encourage presence, achievement and persistence in STEM education and careers and support greater participation of underrepresented population groups.

The long-term vision is to use STEM education as a springboard to increase the number of students with employable labor skills for careers in STEM.
