  • A: Yes, we may. You can access our privacy statement from the GM.com website and opt out of unsolicited marketing emails. If you have subscribed to a particular email newsletter or other communication, you should follow the instructions in the email or on their website to unsubscribe. You must contact your dealer separately.

  • Q: How do I opt out of receiving unsolicited marketing communications from GM or change my opt-out preferences?
  • A: If you do not want to receive unsolicited marketing communications from GM or GM business units, please visit our Consumer Preference System website. This will allow you to opt out of telephone, direct mail and email communications and/or to change previously submitted opt-out preferences. You can also call 1-866-myprivacy (1-866-697-7482) to opt out of direct mail communications, as well as telephone and email communications, and/or to change previously submitted opt-out preferences.

  • Q: How long will my opt-out preferences last?
  • A: Your GM telephone opt-out preferences will expire five (5) years from the date you submit them. Your direct mail opt-out preferences will expire three (3) years from the date you submit them. At this time your email opt-out preferences will not expire. You can change or get your opt-out preferences by visiting the Consumer Preference System website.

  • Q: If I opt out of receiving communications from my dealer, will I still receive communications from GM?
  • A: Yes, you may continue to receive communications from us. GM and GM dealers are separate legal entities with their own privacy practices. If you don't want to receive marketing messages from GM regarding our vehicles, you should call 1-866-myprivacy (1-866-697-7482) or visit our Consumer Preference System website

  • Q: What does channel mean?
  • A: A channel is the means by which GM communicates with you (e.g., email, phone, or direct mail).
  • Q: What communications may GM or GM affiliates continue to send?
  • A: The preferences you choose on this site do not affect any non-marketing communications you may receive from GM. So, you may continue to receive communications (phone calls, emails or direct mail) from GM that do not contain a marketing message. For example, GM may contact you about product or safety information relative to your current vehicle.

    You may also receive marketing communications from business units you did not select, from affiliates, e.g., GMAC, or third parties such as GM dealers.

    If you subscribe to a specific email newsletter from GM you need to follow the unsubscribe process contained in the email to stop the newsletter from being sent.

  • Q: Will I continue to receive special offers if I opt out of marketing communications from GM?
  • A: No, opting out of marketing communications from GM may limit any special offers you may receive from GM.
  • Q: I would like GM to grant me permission to use an image from the site and let me link from my site to GM. What should I do?
  • A: Unfortunately, GM cannot allow images from the GM site or our brand sites to be posted on other sites. Feel free to link your site to the GM site.
  • Q: What are the GM reward cards?
  • A: GM offers a suite of reward credit cards including the GM reward card, the GM Flexible Earnings Card, the GM Business Card and the GM Extended Family Card. Each product allows you to accumulate earnings toward the purchase or lease of an eligible new GM vehicle. Some products have a cash-back option. For more details on each product and how to apply, go to the GM Cardmember Services site.
  • Q: What does it mean to opt out of communications from GM reward cards?
  • A: As a Cardmember, by opting out of communications from the GM reward cards, you will no longer receive any vehicle-related materials or special bonus offers from the GM reward cards. However, Cardmembers may still receive communications from the credit card company (e.g., Balance Transfer offers, credit line increases, etc.). If you want to change your opt-out preferences with our bank partners as well, please contact the bank directly at the numbers listed below:
