A comprehensive evaluation will most likely include but is not limited to:
Before selecting a vehicle, people who have limited mobility, as well as people who need wheelchair accessibility, should consult with a driver evaluator, an aftermarket mobility vehicle equipment installer and their GM dealer.
Some things to take into consideration when making your vehicle selection:
Qualified customers can finance aftermarket mobility equipment with their new GM vehicle through GMAC financing programs available at local GM dealers/retailers. For more information, including details of the Lease Addendum, visit GMAC Financial Assistance.
You will be responsible for contacting an independent mobility equipment installer to have any aftermarket device installed in your vehicle. When selecting a mobility equipment installer, shop around and inquire about their qualifications, capabilities, experience, warranty and service practices. Ask for references and if they are members of the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA) and if they are QAP-certified, a nationally recognized accreditation program for mobility equipment installers.
Watch real stories of people who have enhanced their quality of life and opened a world of possibilities with the GM Mobility program.
The equipment installer and/or driver evaluator should provide training in the proper use and maintenance of the aftermarket mobility equipment and vehicle control system.
