Cybersecurity

Customer safety, privacy, and security are core priorities at General Motors. We design our products, services, and digital experiences with cybersecurity in mind and continually evolve our practices as technologies and threats change. Across our products and operations, we apply modern security standards, dedicated teams, tools, and processes to help identify and manage risks and protect our customers, their vehicles, and their data. We also collaborate with security researchers and industry partners to strengthen our practices and continuously improve.

If you believe you have found a security issue related to a GM product, service, website, or account, we want to hear from you.

General Motors welcomes reports of potential security vulnerabilities affecting GM products, services, and systems through our public Vulnerability Disclosure Program. The program is hosted on HackerOne, where you can review its scope and reporting guidelines. To submit a report, you will need to register for an account and sign in.

For other suspected security issues involving GM (for example, suspicious activity in a GM account, potential compromise of GM systems, or fraud using GM branding), please contact our security team:

  • Email: cybersecurity@gm.com
  • Include a brief description of what you observed, when it occurred, and any supporting screenshots or headers, if available.

Please note: this address is intended for security concerns only, not general customer support or IT help. See the FAQs below for other common support paths
