Autonomous driving

Our vision is that autonomous vehicles can help lead to a safe, less congested future for all.

Hands-free and fully self-driving vehicles will positively change people’s lives forever, giving them back their most valuable asset: time.

Benefits of Hands-Free Driving

Driving should be smarter, more convenient and accessible to all.

We're bringing together the teams at GM and Cruise to build on the foundation of Super Cruise and drive toward our next chapter of hands-free driving and fully autonomous personal vehicles.

We’ve developed our advanced driver assistance features with a focus on safe deployment, using advanced sensors, cameras, and in-car computers.

Ultimately, we aim to eliminate human driver error while creating more time for drivers and improving mobility.

SUPER CRUISE

Hands-off, eyes-on

Introduced in 2017 as the world’s first truly hands-free Advanced Driver Assistance System, Super Cruise allows drivers to remove their hands from the wheel under specified conditions.

With plans for Super Cruise to expand to about 750,000 miles of compatible roads, it's the largest network of truly hands-free driving in North America.

Once people try Super Cruise, they don't want to go back to not having it. It’s why Super Cruise won Motor Trend’s Best Tech award in the driver assistance category.

ADAS

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)1 such as Super Cruise2 elevate the comfort and convenience of driving, but require the driver to remain attentive to traffic, surroundings and road conditions at all times.

AVs

Autonomous Vehicles (AV) are completely self-driving and require no driver supervision. They are designed for specific driving conditions, such as dense urban environments and residential neighborhoods.

  1. Safety or driver-assistance features are no substitute for the driver’s responsibility to operate the vehicle in a safe manner. The driver should remain attentive to traffic, surroundings and road conditions at all times. Visibility, weather and road conditions may affect feature performance. Read the vehicle Owner’s Manual for more important feature limitations and information.
  2. Always pay attention while driving and when using Super Cruise. Do not use a hand-held device. Requires active Super Cruise plan or trial. Terms apply. Visit cadillacsupercruise.comchevysupercruise.com, or gmc.com/connectivity-technology/super-cruise for compatible roads and full details. Automatic Lane Change and Lane Change on Demand are not available while trailering.
