General Motors, University of Michigan Study Finds Automated Safety Features Are Reducing Crashes
General Motors and the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute (UMTRI) partnered to conduct a safety study analyzing the effectiveness of various GM safety-related features. The results are impressive.
The study analyzed over 3.7 million GM vehicles across 20 different models from 2013 to 2017. Fifteen different features, including active safety, driver assistance and advanced headlighting systems, were evaluated using police report crash databases available to UMTRI from 10 states.
